Cookie Policy

Last updated June 23, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Privsnap uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. We keep our use of cookies to the minimum needed to operate the Service.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember preferences, and to understand how a site is used. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, can store information on your device without using a cookie.

2. How we use cookies

We use a single category of cookie: strictly necessary cookies that are required to provide the Service. We do not use advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics that profile you.

3. Cookies and storage we use

  • Session cookie (strictly necessary). A first-party, HTTP-only cookie set by our authentication system when you sign in. It keeps you logged in across pages and protects against cross-site request forgery. It expires when your session ends or you sign out.
  • Theme preference (local storage, not a cookie). Your light or dark mode choice is stored in your browser’s local storage and is never transmitted to us.

Because the free tier does not require an account, you can use the core OCR features without any cookie being set.

4. What we do not use

We do not set advertising cookies, social-media cookies, or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share information gathered through cookies.

5. Managing cookies

Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings, and let you clear local storage. Because our only cookie is strictly necessary, blocking it will prevent you from signing in and maintaining a subscription, but it will not affect on-device OCR on the free tier. For more information about cookies, see allaboutcookies.org.

6. Changes and contact

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time and will revise the “Last updated” date above. Questions? Write to support@privsnap.sumku.cc.
